Selling Hold

The Selling Hold option allows you to place items on temporary selling hold so that they cannot be entered on sales orders. A message will appear if a user tries to add an item on selling hold to a sales order. This is a very useful tool used to place seasonal items on hold when they are out of season or temporarily unavailable.

A "release" date is specified, upon which will automatically remove the selling hold.

A permanent selling hold can be placed on an item by setting the saleable flag for the item to no within the Item option.

Selling Hold Fields

Item	The item to be put on selling hold.
Selling Hold (Y/N)	Indicates whether the item is on selling hold: Y = yes, the item is on selling hold, N = no, the item is not on selling hold.
Hold Effective Until	The item is on hold and cannot be entered on sales orders with a ship date prior to the date entered at this field.
